The Employers of Choice Level-1 Program helps employers to enhance their ability to attract, recruit and retain a dedicated team of exceptional staff.
New this year, the Employers of Choice Peer Network Program supports participants who have completed the Level-1 Program as they endeavour to improve their human resource asset. The Peer Network program is dedicated to coach and expand participant learnings from Level-1, to support their success at building and retaining a workforce. of choice. Participation for the Peer Network program will be by invite only.

Training is provided free of charge.

The GROW Program is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.

Employers of Choice Level 1

Program details:

The Employers of Choice Level-1 Program provides the tools and training your company needs to achieve your workforce goals. The program runs for 10 weeks opening Oct 5 2021 and ending Dec 10, 2021.

Our goal is to help your firm improve workforce attraction, recruitment and productivity.

All training is delivered online.

Participants should expect to spend:

  • 90 minutes of weekly virtual instruction, which will include and encourage participant questions and comments throughout the content presentation.
    Schedule: Oct 5 – Dec 7 on Tuesdays 11:30am – 1pm.
  • 60-minutes of weekly unstructured “Office Hours”, during which participants have virtual live access to the Instructor for Program learning support (Optional)
    Schedule: Oct 8 – Dec 10 on Fridays 8:30am – 9:30am.
  • 20-minute One-on-One virtual “Lightning Round” coaching session for each participant.
    Schedule: Nov 12 – Dec 10 on Fridays 9:45am – 10:45am.

Program Requirements:
Employers must commit to:

  • Complete program self-assessments before and after the 10-week program.
  • Provide 1-2 current staff to participate in the program training.
  • Participation is limited to the employer/owner or HR person who oversees managing staff and contributing to the company’s hiring decisions.
  • Complete the full 10-week training program.
  • Commit to implementing changes to their company’s workforce practices.

The Employers of Choice Peer Network Program is dedicated to coach and expand participant learnings from Level- 1, to support their success at building and retaining a workforce of choice. The program runs for 8 weeks from Nov 5, 2021 to Dec 10, 2021 and one week Jan 7 and Feb 4 respectively.

Participation for the Employers of Choice Peer Network program will be by invite only.

All coaching is delivered virtually.

Participants will receive:

  • 60 minutes of weekly encounters in a private community lounge

Schedule: Nov 1- Dec 10, Jan 7, and Feb 4 on Fridays from Noon till 1:00pm

Program Eligibility and Requirements:

  • Participants must have completed the Employers of Choice Level-1 training.
  • Participants must commit to participate in all 8 coaching sessions.
  • Participants must complete pre and post assessments.

Frequently Asked Questions:

This training is designed for individuals who are responsible for managing, hiring, and developing staff. Ideally, the Employer/Owner or HR. Successful participants should have the capacity to make changes to current processes and practices and have a desire to do so to achieve their goals.
Participants in the Employers of Choice Level-1 Program will learn about and gain experience using tools and practices to be applied in their businesses to enhance workforce attraction, retention, and productivity. Participants will also gain awareness and understanding of factors contributing to current results.
The Program will be delivered and facilitated over Zoom and the E-Learning Platform. GROW provides training for all participants on how to access and use these platforms. Access to reliable internet and a computer is required for participation in the program.
To successfully complete the program, participants must attend all 10 sessions of the program. One 90-minute session per week for 10 weeks.
To support participation of as many LO members as possible, at this time participation is limited to a maximum of two people per company.
This program is designed to work with people who are currently responsible for managing, hiring, and developing staff. Only those in positions with this responsibility are eligible to participate in this program. The GROW Incumbent Worker Training Program might be a good fit for your employee.
Access to reliable internet that allows you to access email, Zoom and the E-Learning Platform is required. A test of your internet service at home or at the office is recommended prior to applying for the program.
The intention of the Program is to create a safe and constructive environment for learning and sharing among participants. All program participants will be required to abide by a code of conduct that includes maintaining the confidentiality of information shared by other members in the program.
This program is at no cost to participants, it is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.
All applicants will be notified of the deadline on the application form.
Participants are required to have their own access to a computer and stable internet to participate in the program.
Yes. Training on how to use the E-Learning Platform and Zoom, will be provided at the beginning of the program.
The instructor will work with the group to accommodate those involved in snow removal.
